Charismatic, witty and all around FUN! We knew the minute we met her she was going to be friend for life! Ashley and Kevin had a beautiful October wedding at Camp Lucy. We were lucky to have a dream team of vendors for an epic and fun night! We love our clients and vendors!

In Business with My BFF

History is filled with tales and dramatic adventures of twosomes – Adam & Eve, Thelma & Louise, Batman & Robin, Shaggy & Scooby, Jekyll & Hyde, husband & wife…heck even the animals in the Ark were sent two by two! Our story is no different. Well, we are not famous, or making history for that matter, but we do have tales and dramatic adventures. Four and a half years ago, my best friend and I decided to start our own wedding and event planning company. It was a bold move to go into business with my best friend. Many people warned us against it and horror stories flooded out of their mouths like milk out of a kids nose when he laughs too hard. We listened and considered the possibility that ‘something bad’ might happen. I once heard “nobody can give you wiser advice than yourself” (Cicero). With that thought in mind, encouragement from our friends and families, and a lot of prayer, we did it – Life Styled Events was created!

It’s exciting that our small company has come so far and continues to grow. Many people ask us what it’s like to work with my best friend. So, I thought about it and I know these things about being in business with my best friend…

1. Events are more fun when you work with your best friend!
2. We can look at each other from across the room and know what each other needs (and that we need it now!)
3. If either of us was hit by a bus, the other one could pick up where she left off and never skip a beat (we’ll be sure to look both ways when crossing of course).
4. Accountability to your business partner is one thing, but to your best friend, you better do what you say you are going to.
5. Having a best friend that is strong where you are weak is a gift.
6. Two brains are better than one (especially when both of you are blonde).
7. Discussing business and events over a glass of wine (or whiskey) is just plain fun – seriously, who needs a boardroom?!?
8. It’s never really work!

We love what we do. It’s a passion that we share. And as I look back on the years that I’ve had my best friend as my business partner, I thank heaven we were the exception to the naysayers “rule”!
