A vintage wedding with an Italian touch, we think yes!! It was wonderful working with Brittany and Jeff on their big day. They came to us with a strong vision that we were more than happy to help execute. Brittany, our sweet bride who is part Italian, chose a rich color pallet of golds, white, reds and corals. To bring in her heritage, we accented her lush floral with heavy farm tables, delicate vintage plates and gold compote vases to create a dreamy vintage vineyard ambiance. It would not have been a vintage vineyard without tons of lavish greenery, and she had just that. The low – profile centerpieces were heavily complimented by beautiful garland runners and the soft flicker of candlelight.

Brittany and Jeff exchanged vows and danced the night away at a unique and stunning venue in Austin, Texas, One World Theatre. The venue served as a beautiful backdrop for a simply perfect day. While the guest enjoyed a decadent cocktail hour in the theatre, the amazing team of vendors hustled to transform the ceremony space into an over the top reception area, right out of an old vintage garden photograph. Their guest were beaming as they made their way down the spiral staircase into the recently set reception space. A comfy vintage love seat, adorned with lush garland was awaiting the newlyweds. Guest dined and toasted the bride and groom as everyone started their evening that they would never forget. The dance party was kicked off upstairs in the old One World theatre by the band Suede. The Bride and Groom along with their closest family and friends danced the night away. At the end of their sparkler send of, Brittany and Jeff rode away into the rest of their forever in a 1957 black Chevy convertible, also adorned with.. you guessed it… lush garland. October 25^th, was truly a magical day.

The wedding cake sure has evolved over the years. I remember looking at pictures of my mother’s wedding cake and thinking “geez that thing is huge!” It was a big one alright, completed with bridges, stairs and even a waterfall! When is the last time that you saw one of those?! It has probably been awhile. There have been many trends over the years evolving the wedding cakes from different styles, colors and looks. Can you imagine a time when all bridal cakes were white? Nowadays, there are so many different options. Brides seem to be going less traditional and leaning more and more towards showing off their personality with fun prints, bold colors and different styled toppers. 2015 is brining a look of its own…mini cakes. These cakes are really really cute if you ask me.  I have put together a few of my favorites. With these little cuties, the possibilities are endless!

It’s that time of the week again…time for Vendor Shout-Out Sunday! Prepare yourself for this post. Your eyes are about to be amazed and your mouth watering. It is not all that often that we get to sit back and enjoy an evening like Queens. This week we were spoiled rotten by some amazing event professionals and we have some ridiculously awesome photos to prove it. We wanted to first start out by saying thank you, thank you, thank you to Catering With A Twist for having us for a wonderful, 5 star, delicious, gorgeous and over the top 5 course meal. Y’all, the food was off the charts good. Yes, the rumors are true…. there was even BACON butter!! Yes, you heard me…BACON butter. It was just as amazing as it sounds. If you have ever been to an event where Catering With a Twist is involved, you know that there will always be something special, a pop of personality or an element of surprise. This week’s dinner was no different. During our champagne cocktail hour we were wonderfully entertained by One Note Stand A Cappalla, a very talented group from UT. They were beyond talented and you could tell by the looks on everyone’s faces, that everyone enjoyed them just as much as we did.

We would also like to send a huge thank you to The Brodie Homestead for hosting us. If you are looking for a unique venue with rockin’ chandeliers, this is your place! The venue is new, different and simply beautiful. We highly recommend checking it out. Don’t worry, we have pictures coming… I know you are dying to see!

As soon as we walked through the doors, our jaws dropped. Y’all, the decor was to die for. Visual Lyrics really out did themselves with their creative use of chain, gold, vine, and cardboard leaves. It never fails, we are always impressed by the ideas they come up with and the designs they produce. Just when we thought the cocktail hour decor was impressive…we then saw what they did for the tablescape. Two words: freaking awesome. As soon as we were able to see the space where we would be dining for the evening, there were many cheers, and iPhone flashes from every direction. The table was breath taking and we all had to get pictures because we couldn’t wait to share with you all how awesome of a night we were being treated to. We are not going to say anymore about the tablescape, and let the pictures do the talking.

The new year is bringing on some really cool trends. We are going to be doing a blog series on new trends and some really neat ideas. Get ready to be inspired!

This week we are going to be diving into the 2015 trend of greenery. Floral is a common sighting at weddings, but this year expect greenery to take the spotlight.

You can find greenery popping up on tables as runners, in floral arrangements, wedding wreaths, long and lush garland, on seat backs, running down the aisle, on the crown of the bride and even hanging from the ceiling! Adding green to arrangements is always a great way to save money on floral and still get the full, lush look you are striving for. We happen to love this trend and all the endless possibilities!
