Do you love to entertain but hate the hassle of coming up with food, drinks, activities, and decor? We put together a quick guide of 5 ideas to make your next event in your home a pleasant one for all…even you!
1.Keep it simple. A simple white linen, white plates with a pop of color for your tablescape is simple, easy and gorgeous. Don’t stress yourself or break the budget going overboard on the table. Most likely, you have stuff already around the house you can add to your table setting. Add in a few bud vases or foliage from your garden and TA – DA! You are done and your table is gorgeous.
2.Signature Drink. Have you ever stood in the alcohol section of the liquor store or local grocer trying to figure out what drinks your guest will like? It’s a daunting process and the truth of the matter is you are never going to get it right. Some people like beer. Some like light beer, some like dark, some only like certain brands. Some people only drink red wine…a certain kind of red wine. Some people like margaritas on the rocks, some like frozen, some like sangria swirled.. get the point? It’s impossible and stressful. Choose one or two signature drinks and go with that. Not only is it easier for you, it adds a swanky touch to your event. Want to make life even easier? Make a signature punch. It’s already made and your guest can take if or leave it.
3.Themed Menu. Make your dinner party, back yard bash or any other event you are hosting at your home one to remember with a fun themed menu. Try a taco bar, salad bar, cheese and wine menu or even mini sliders and fries. I have done many chili bars and guest love it! They like to choose their own toppings and love the interactive factor of their dining experience. Plus, it’s so easy to prepare and less mess!
4.Dessert Table. Have your dessert table already set up and on display when guest arrive. It makes for a pretty display but also prevents you having to prep more food while your guest are there. What fun is it to entertain if you have to work the whole time?
5.Repurpose. This tip is going to get your creative juices flowing. When hosting guest, repurpose things you have used at previous events but make it look different with a touch of paint, add ribbon, add sequins ect . A few sprays of paint make a big difference y’all! Did you have clear vases to hold floral at your last event? Spray them gold this time, or add ribbon around the brim. I have had many events where I used frames for signage and I can guarantee that if you started chipping away at the paint you would see about ten layers deep of color. This tip will save you so much money. Plus, it’s fun!
Get to planning!!
Until Next Time,
